Yoo Capital has acquired Holmes Road Depot and the Regis Road Recycling Centre in Camden, NW1, on a subject-to-planning basis.
The investment firm plans to turn the site into an international film quarter with a sustainable mixed-use neighbourhood. Plans include industrial, commercial and creative spaces alongside a residential offering, 50% of which will be affordable.
A public consultation will be held next month.
It is the third acquisition for the Yoo Capital Fund II, led by Yoo Capital and Astarte Capital Partners.
The move follows the fund’s acquisition of the former Saville Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue, WC2, in November 2021. It plans to restore the site to a live performance venue.
The firm is also behind the £1.3bn Olympia renovation. Once complete, the site will house a 4,400-capacity music venue, two hotels, more 20 restaurants and bars, and 550,000 sq ft of creative offices and studios.
This acquisition is part of the firm’s investment strategy, focused on creating spaces that support the arts, creative, hospitality and science-led industries in the capital.
Lloyd Lee, managing partner of Yoo Capital, said: “This project will be a shot in the arm for the UK’s creative industries as we look to fuel its exponential growth by attracting the best talent in TV and film to the area.”
