Woolworths has sold four London stores to Waitrose for £25.5m.
The stores, which total around 80,000 sq ft, are in Edgware Road, Islington, Clapham Junction and Chiswick.
Proceeds from the sale – which was announced as the retailer reported group sales down 1.9% in the six months to 14 June – will be used to reduce borrowings and finance ongoing investment.
