Universities extend their presence within Liverpool Science Park
Both Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Liverpool have renewed their leases within Sciontec-owned Liverpool Science Park’s Innovation Centre.
The University of Liverpool has agreed a 10-year deal for an 11,000 sq ft facility to house research teams from its Institute of Infection, Veterinary and Ecological Sciences. The institution will occupy several containment level 2 research laboratories within the iC2 building.

The University of Liverpool has agreed a 10-year deal for an 11,000 sq ft facility to house research teams from its Institute of Infection, Veterinary and Ecological Sciences. The institution will occupy several containment level 2 research laboratories within the iC2 building.
Liverpool John Moores University has agreed a five-year deal to remain within their 12,000 sq ft workspace, also situated at iC2. The facility will continue to serve as a home for its Astrophysics Research Institute operations.
Leanne Katsande, head of commercial at Sciontec, said: “Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Liverpool are not only partners in Sciontec, but also customers within our innovation centres, who share our values of bringing together like-minded businesses, academics, clinicians and scientists for the greater good.”
Sciontec is jointly owned by Bruntwood SciTech, Liverpool City Council, Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Liverpool. It owns and operates Liverpool Science Park alongside the Sciontec AI serviced offices in the Spine, which is owned by Liverpool City Council.
