UK house asking prices edge higher in June

Asking prices for newly-listed UK properties edged higher in June as sales improved from the start of the year, according to Rightmove.

The properties website found asking prices rose 0.4% month on month in June to an average of £309,439, easing from 0.8% growth in May.

There was good news for sellers in the north of the country where strong buyer demand has shrunk available housing stock while the picture in the south is the reverse with more properties on the market pushing down prices.
