The Trump Organization’s CFO has pleaded guilty to tax evasion and will serve a five-month jail term under a deal with prosecutors.
Allen Weisselberg pleaded guilty to 15 charges in a New York court yesterday, admitting to taking $1.7m in untaxed perks and keeping them off the books of the former president’s company.
Under a deal struck with prosecutors, he will appear as a star witness to testify against the Trump Organization in a trial set to begin in October. The company is accused of helping Weisselberg and other executives avoid tax by failing to report their full income.
