Trio of occupiers line up for City’s tallest tower
The vast new City skyscraper at 22 Bishopsgate is set to welcome three new tenants in the coming weeks – a UK insurer, an Asian bank and a Wall Street law firm.
Fidelis Insurance, a bespoke insurer with offices in London, Dublin and Bermuda, has gone under offer on around 50,000 sq ft at the tower over two floors, EG understands, while the Korean Development Bank is targeting around 11,000 sq ft across half a floor.
Law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom has gone under offer on around 70,000 sq ft across three floors of the building. Its move comes after EG revealed the firm had earmarked the tower as its new headquarters last month.

The trio of upcoming signings further illustrates the gravitational pull of prime office space for City occupiers, despite the debate over the future of work causing significant uncertainty in the broader market.
In April, office take-up in the financial district reached its second-highest monthly total since the pandemic began, at 337,631 sq ft, according to Savills. Year-to-date take-up has now reached 1.11m sq ft, with 92% of the space taken being of grade-A quality.
At 278m, 22 Bishopsgate is the second-tallest skyscraper in western Europe, behind the Shard, and contains 1.2m sq ft of office space over 62 floors, along with more than 100,000 sq ft of amenity space.
This includes a 20,000 sq ft food hub called The Market across the second floor, innovation hub The Exchange, a members’ club and a gym with London’s first sky-wall climbing window 125m above the ground.
Fidelis is a Bermuda-registered company that provides specialised insurance products for industries including real estate, energy, marine and aviation. It is currently based in the nearby Leadenhall Building.
The state-owned Korean Development Bank has its London office at 99 Bishopsgate. It has historically been used to finance Korean industrial capital but in recent years has branched out into investment banking.
CBRE and JLL are the leasing agents at the building. All parties declined to comment.
