The move is an upsize for HarbourVest, which signed a lease to occupy 4,537 sq ft at 33 Jermyn Street, SW1, in 2020. That lease comes to an end in March 2024.
The news comes after the tech platform struck a deal with US law firm Paul Weiss to sublet its space at 20 Air Street following a five-month search for an occupier, according to Financial News.
X occupies 89,581 sq ft across the first, third and sixth floors of the office block, where it has a £2.6m-a-year lease for the third floor.
In January 2023, the company was sued by the Crown Estate for unpaid rent after a spate of job cuts and a mandate from Musk left the Soho space deserted. The lawsuit was settled after the social media platform paid rental arrears.
Knight Frank acted for the Crown Estate. All parties declined to comment.
