John Macdonald-Brown, chief executive of Syzygy, said: “At a time when many believe the cost of decarbonising real estate is prohibitive, Syzygy is consistently able to demonstrate the commercial opportunity – the financial gains and the returns – alongside the obvious environmental ones that come from a robust, well thought through and holistic strategy.
“Craig brings a wealth of experience in the global real estate sector and will be invaluable in supporting our continued growth by providing strategic business advice and support as well as having connections to help us raise awareness about how we deliver sustainable, viable and cost-effective projects.”
Hughes added: “The property sector is grappling with the challenge of decarbonising its real estate to meet net zero targets. Syzygy is not only a company that can help mitigate the risk of obsolescence, rescuing stranded assets, but also reduce carbon emissions, cut energy costs, enhance value, make the asset attractive to occupiers and investors and create a revenue stream.”
