Shaun Vigers, SVA director, said: “We are delighted to be reappointed – this is part of a long-term project. Scottish Water has been disposing of its redundant assets to raise capital to reinvest and to reduce its liabilities.”
Assets sold through SVA auctions include reservoirs, sewage works, pumping stations and areas of land.
Recently, an old water tower in Dumfries and Galloway was sold through an SVA auction for £13,000.
“This contract certainly provides us with some quirky stock from all over Scotland to sell,” Vigers added.
A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “Scottish Water, in line with other public bodies, is obliged to sell redundant assets on the open market in order to maximise their value.”
