Superdry founder’s £1m parting gift
The co-founder of Superdry is leaving the fashion brand he helped to launch more than 30 years ago at a market stall in Cheltenham.
Julian Dunkerton said that he was leaving to spend more time on his other interests, which include Dunkertons Cider, his family’s business, as well as a luxury hotels group in the Cotswolds.

Julian Dunkerton said that he was leaving to spend more time on his other interests, which include Dunkertons Cider, his family’s business, as well as a luxury hotels group in the Cotswolds.
He also wanted to take on charitable work, he said, and pledged to donate more than £1m of his Superdry shares to Blue Marine, a fishing conservation charity.
Superdry floated in March 2010 with 40 stores and 54 concessions and today it has more than 550 stores in 49 countries.
