Wittington acquired the site, located at 23, Goswell Road, London, EC1, (from Boultbee Brooks Real Estate in August this year.
Boultbee Brooks bought the building, which was home to the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, in September 2019 for £9,500,000.
A planning application will be submitted to repurpose the building into high-quality, flexible workspace with capacity for up to 340 people.
The site will be Spacemade’s 12th city centre location as the operational partner for landlords has also committed to expanding its existing city centre workspace, the Clement Rooms at 217 Strand, WC2.
The move marks the second partnership agreement between Spacemade and Wittington, following their delivery of flex workspace in Wimbledon.
Spacemade co-founder Jonny Rosenblatt said: “We are seeing a significant surge in demand for flex space in city centres and are already pre-letting our city centre spaces that we have announced but not yet opened.
“Occupiers are increasingly demanding high-quality workspaces in convenient locations, and it’s clear that more and more companies are seeking out more flexible options. The current economic uncertainty is only going to accelerate this trend.”
The news follows Spacemade’s management agreement with the Howard de Walden Estate, which it signed in November this year.
