Sosandar chooses Metrocentre in Gateshead for its third store

Sosandar has signed a deal with the Metrocentre Partnership to open its third store in Metrocentre in  Gateshead.  The womenswear retailer has signed for 2,047 sq ft in the centre’s upper Platinum Mall, joining brands such as Phase Eight and Hobbs. The new store will open in October and marks the company’s third physical shop after openings in Chelmsford and Marlow in September. The company said it has several others nearing the final stages of legal proceedings and other potential locations under consideration. Ben Cox, asset manager of the Metrocentre, said: “Sosandar’s arrival at Metrocentre for one of their first physical stores, and first in the region, is reflective of the destination’s dominance in the North East and strength in the UK as a whole.” The Metrocentre Partnership has submitted a £6m redevelopment plan for the centre’s Green Mall entrance, aiming to create new anchor units and 18,000 sq ft of south-facing F&B space across three new stores.  Retail lettings in Gateshead >> Photo © Sosandar, courtesy of Aver
