Social Sports Society puts Stockport padel plans in play
The Social Sports Society has lodged proposals to open a padel venue at Stockport Exchange.
The scheme, designed by Manchester-based architecture firm IF_DO, will be brought forward in partnership with Stockport Council and Muse. It features 16,146 sq ft of space with three enclosed courts and a new reception area.
Subject to planning approval, the padel courts will open later this year.

The project follows the Social Sports Society’s launch of its Wembley Padel venue in the new north London neighbourhood of Wembley Park. The company is also developing further sites nationwide, including a multi-sports venue in Brent Cross.

Colin MacAlister, cabinet member for economy and regeneration at Stockport Council, said: “Stockport Exchange is home to a diverse range of businesses and I’m sure this latest addition will prove to be popular with both residents and workers.”
Ella Woodward, development manager at Muse, added: “We’ve spoken to lots of local people and businesses. The feedback we receive often focuses on the importance of wellbeing and community, so we believe that a new padel venue will be very well received.”
