Slice of history goes on offer at Clive Emson’s June sale

Clive Emson Auctioneers is offering a slice of history at its June sale with the Cliff Hotel in Penzance, Cornwall – a property used as a refuge by the prime minister of Norway during the second world war.

The 21-bedroom hotel, with views of St Michael’s Mount, is being put up for sale for the first time in almost 100 years. It is being offered with a freehold guide price of £250,000 to £300,000.

Other lots at the June sale include the Dog & Gun pub in Maidstone, Kent, which is being offered with a £200,000-£220,000 guide, a two-storey, 12,500 sq ft former NatWest business centre on a 0.73-acre site in Newport, Isle of Wight, with a guide price of £600,000-£650,000, and a pair of half-finished semi-detached houses on Canvey Island, Essex. They are being guided at £300,000-plus.
