SEGRO CFO joins Next as non-exec

Next has hired SEGRO chief financial officer Soumen Das as an independent non-executive director. Das takes up his new role today (1 September). Next said that his appointment will “strengthen the board’s knowledge and experience of the UK property and capital markets”, after former Landsec chief Francis Salway stepped down from his non-exec post in May. Soumen, aged 44, has more than 11 years of board-level experience with listed companies, having previously been managing director and chief financial officer of Capital & Counties Properties. He is also a former executive director at UBS. Upon appointment, Das will become a member of the nomination, audit and remuneration committees.
