SDL Property Auctions raises more than £20m in its September sales
SDL Property Auctions sold more than £20m of stock across its national and single-lot auctions last month.
The firm raised £9.6m in its 29 September live-streamed national sale. It sold 73 lots from 112 offered – a success rate of 65%. A further 11 lots were withdrawn prior.
Successes included two former churches. A former Methodist church in Worthington, near Ashby-de-la-Zouch in Leicestershire, sold for £61,000 (lot 2), while in South Normanton, near Alfreton in Derbyshire, the former Zion Methodist Church (pictured) made £285,000 (lot 45).

Residential sales included a semi-detached house in Timperley, Altrincham, Cheshire, which sold for £356,000 (lot 1), and a semi in Coventry, which went for £272,000 (lot 67).
An 8,000 sq ft plot of land in Selly Oak, Birmingham, sold for £209,000 (lot 137).
Single-lot online auctions during the month raised more than £12m. They included a tenanted student bedroom with ensuite bathroom within a “student cluster flat” in a block in Salford, with shared kitchen and lounge area. The current rent is £6,600 per annum. Bidding opened at £30,000 and reached £35,500.
In Benson, a village just south of Oxford, a former telephone exchange in a residential area sold prior for £102,500. It has planning consent for the creation of a one-bedroom home.
