SDL Property Auctions’ July sale offered ‘something for everyone’
With properties from Shepherd’s Bush in London to the Nottinghamshire suburbs, SDL Property Auctions’ 28 July sale provided opportunities for buyers across the length and breadth of the UK.
In London, an impressive result was secured with the sale of 16-18 Thornfield Road, W12 (lot 129a, pictured), a three-storey property which is currently split into multiple dwellings. With a guide price of £1.25m+, it attracted an exciting battle of bids on the day, eventually selling for £1.35m.
Andrew Parker, managing director and auctioneer at SDL Property Auctions, said: “It is always a joy to bring opportunities such as this to auction, especially on behalf of our partner agent, Dexters. It offers great potential for the buyer, either to let out in its existing format or transformed into one impressive home – it will be fascinating to see which route is taken.”

Other strong results included the opening lot, 27 Lichfield Road in Nottingham, a two-bedroom terraced house in need of modernisation. Located in the popular residential area of Sneinton, it was offered at a guide price of £59,000+ and sold for £120,500.
Across the county border in Derbyshire, 61 Westgreen Avenue in Allenton, Derby (lot 19), an attractive three-bedroom detached property with potential for extension (subject to planning consent) sold for £200,000, from a guide price of £120,000+.
A different type of development opportunity was the sale of land adjacent to The Cottage on Berrick Road in Chalgrove, Oxford (lot 126). Extending to approximately 1.3 acres, this freehold parcel of land suitable for a variety of uses (subject to planning consent) sold for £132,000, more than double its guide price of £55,000+.
Parker added: “There truly was something for everyone in this month’s auction, with high-value investment opportunities through to smaller doer-uppers. It is always a pleasure to be able to secure impressive results for our sellers regardless of their property’s location or condition.”
