Scarborough Group International has formed a strategic partnership with Sheffield Technology Parks to draw innovators in the sports, health and wellbeing sectors to Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park.
The pair say they will provide a “supportive environment” for companies working to address some of society’s biggest health and wellbeing issues. The initial focus will be on building a business community at Landing Pad, SGI’s dedicated incubation centre for spin-outs, start-ups and scale-ups.
Inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park is aimed at bringing together expertise from academia, elite sports, the NHS and the public and private sectors to improve public health. Tenants include the English Institute of Sport Sheffield, iceSheffield, Canon Medical Arena, LivingCare Medical Diagnostic Centre, Sheffield Hallam University’s Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre and National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering, and UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park.
