Savills takes overflow space amid HQ refurb
Savills is to lease flexible office space in Fitzrovia while the agency upgrades parts of its headquarters at 33 Margaret Street, W1.
The FTSE 250 company said parts of its global base needed refurbishment as it adjusts to post-pandemic working practices, and that some staff will relocate to a floor at 20 Rathbone Place, W1, while this happens.
Workthere, Savills’ flex brand, did the deal for the site. The license lasts for two years. Staff will temporarily move to the flexible offices in phases while the Margaret Street building is upgraded.

The refurb will be designed by Savills’ in-house design studio KKS, along with the firm’s building and project consultancy team. It will use “new layout concepts” to accommodate new types of amenity and collaboration space, Savills said.
A spokesperson said: “Savills’ global HQ has been located at 33 Margaret Street for almost 10 years. It represented a step change for our business and how our offices are utilised, including the significant amenity of a client café, which has transformed how we interact with our clients.
“The continued growth of our business, as well as changes in the way we use our space has resulted in us now needing to adapt the building further to accommodate this expansion, which coincides with the half way point of our existing lease.”
