Sama submits plans for student accommodation in Sheffield
Sama Investment Group has lodged plans to deliver an 11-storey PBSA scheme in Sheffield City Centre.
The move comes following the acquisition of the former 2.6-acres Globe II Business Centre site at 128 Maltravers Road, where previous owners, Forward Realty, have failed to deliver a mixed-use project comprising student accommodation, retirement homes and a care home.
The new project, designed by AXIS Architecture, will see the construction of 378 new homes for students, comprising 354 self-contained studios and 24 six-bed cluster flats with en-suite rooms, shared kitchen, dining and lounge facilities.

In addition, Sama plans to create parking for 27 car spaces, cycle parking and ancillary plant and refuse stores.
A separate application has been submitted by Sama for a three-storey 85-bedroom care home, totalling 42,754 sq ft, on part of the site, which is currently awaiting a decision.
