Salvation Army puts Elephant and Castle site up for sale
The Salvation Army is selling 101 Newington Causeway, Southwark, SE1, for a mixed-use development.
The site is currently in use as The Salvation Army UK and Republic of Ireland Territorial HQ, and the church and charity intends to use the money from the sale to relocate in the borough.
Savills has been appointed on the sale.

The buildings have an existing GIA of 90,918 sq ft. There has also been a positive pre-application with Southwark Council for comprehensive redevelopment of the site to provide a 39-storey tower and a 14-storey commercial building.
Andrew Cox, director in the Savills development team, said: “The site could be suited for a number of alternative uses, including residential, student housing, hotel or commercial.
“There is no formal guide price. However, the client’s aspirations are in excess of £45m, inviting offers on a subject-to-planning basis.”
