Salford City Council has approved Eutopia Home’s £105m Ordsall residential sceme in its first virtual planning committee.
EG first reported plans to develop 500 homes of mixed tenures at the developer’s third scheme last year.
Plans were later lodged for the land fronting the River Irwell, to the east of MediaCity UK.
The scheme has been designed by Darlin Architects, with 500 homes spread over three blocks. It includes 250 homes for sale and 250 for private rent.
Founder and chief executive Scott Hammond said: “The council has demonstrated a speed of decision making in difficult times, which is testament to the desire to attract inward investment.
“Our plans will open up the riverside through new pathways and green spaces while also providing much needed housing that can cater to a broad range of demographics, thanks to the range in apartment sizes and mix of tenures.”
