RLAM appoints new lead for £6bn fund

Royal London Asset Management Property has appointed Will Edwards as portfolio fund manager for its £6bn Royal London Property Pension Fund.

Edwards joins from Legal & General where he was head of emerging strategies and a senior fund manager.

He has a strong track record of delivering tailored property investment strategies and impact-led objectives for funds with differing vintages, structures and return targets. He will be tasked with delivering the optimal fund strategy, maximising the performance of each property, further embedding responsible investment principles, and sourcing acquisitions to complement the existing portfolio and capitalise on favourable market conditions.

At L&G, Edwards created the Sustainable DC Property Fund, managed close-ended real estate vehicles, was responsible for leading joint ventures with strategic clients and completed more than £2.5bn of investment deals.

Edwards said his focus in his new role would be on identifying new investment opportunities and maximising good outcomes for investors.

Mark Evans, head of property at Royal London Asset Management, added: “Will’s extensive experience and proven track record in managing real estate investment funds will be invaluable as we continue to grow RLPPF and deliver long-term value to our investors. Will’s appointment reinforces Royal London Asset Management’s commitment to the property sector.”
