Cale Street Investments’ Derbion centre in Derby has signed two new occupiers, while four existing tenants have agreed deals to increase the size of their stores.
Shoe retailer Pavers and sportswear store Castore will open later this year in units measuring 4,000 sq ft and 1,771 sq ft, respectively. Both deals were signed for 10 years.
JD Sports, Superdrug, Greggs and Yours will all be upsizing their spaces. JD Sports will more than double its space to 20,175 sq ft from 9,397 sq ft, while Superdrug has added 1,872 sq ft to its store, which now measures a total of 10,431 sq ft.
Greggs has increased its space by 636 sq ft to 2,015 sq ft, while Yours will leave its existing 2,995 sq ft store for a 3,506 sq ft facility.
Overall, existing retailers invested £5.2m in store upgrades, fit-outs, upsizes and relocations in the first half of 2024.
Beth McDonald, managing director at Derbion, said: “Recommitments, alongside the recent arrivals of Castore and Pavers, is part of our leasing strategy that optimises the performance of our current retailers while attracting new brands.
“These new relocations are allowing us to curate the centre and zone brands together to enhance the shopper experience and ensure brands benefit from optimum footprint and location to drive footfall and sales.”
