Retail sales across the UK declined by 0.1% in 2019, with new data highlighting the “worst year on record” for the sector.
Total sales for 2019 were largely flat, compared with 1.2% growth during the same period in 2018, according to the latest sales monitor from the British Retail Consortium and KPMG.
During November and December, total sales declined by 0.9% compared with the same period in 2018.
