Rents on new resi tenancies rise by record 10.2%

Rents on new tenancies have soared by a record 10.2% over the year.

According to Hamptons, the amount of rent paid by British tenants this year will be £85.6bn, more than twice the £40.3bn paid in 2010 and £8bn more than last year.

It is the fastest national increase since Hamptons started collecting the data in 2014.
