Regal London’s Brent PBSA project gets go-ahead
The London Borough of Brent has approved mixed-use developer Regal London’s plans to develop The Society, its first purpose-built student accommodation project, in Wembley at a planning meeting yesterday.
The 349-bed development was designed by JTP and is targeting top accreditations for sustainability (BREEAM Excellent), internet connectivity (WiredScore Platinum) and health and wellbeing (WELL Platinum). If it achieves the desired WELL accreditation, The Society is set to become one of the first PBSA assets in the UK with a Platinum rating for health and wellbeing.
The project will include a rooftop garden, greened street-side terraces, a gym, a multi-use studio, a lounge, dining areas and study space.

Regal London is aiming to complete the development in time for the academic year 2025/6 and will offer a mix of ensuite shared accommodation, studios, and premium studios. Just over half (51%) of beds will be nominated to a higher education institution, of which 35% will be affordable beds.
The site is currently the location of Fairgate House,HA9, and Pitman House, HA9, on High Road, Wembley and is a short distance from Wembley Park, Wembley Central and Wembley Stadium.
Regal London planning director Steve Harrington said: “With over 240,000 students in London unable to access high-quality purpose-built student accommodation, we are delighted to be making our debut into this exciting sector with The Society on High Road, Wembley.
“Our presence in the area is growing, following our successful start on site at Fulton & Fifth, it’s great to be continuing our collaborative relationship with Brent.”
