RDAs combine to promote Thames Gateway

The DETR has announced a new body to boost regeneration of the Thames Gateway. A strategic partnership has been launched, bringing together the Government and regional and local bodies including SEEDA (South East England Development Agency), EEDA (East of England Development Agency) and Essex Economic Partnership. Minister for the Regions Hilary Armstrong announced the new body at the Thames Gateway 2000 exhibition held at London Arena. She said: “The priorities of the new body will be securing commitment and investment, tackling strategic cross-boundary issues, setting targets and monitoring progress.” The government’s Central Office of Information web site has more details.
