Prudential will keep London HQ for ‘foreseeable future’

Prudential has said it will maintain a “meaningful presence” in London, despite pressure to ditch the office in its move East.

The 173-year-old insurer is to raise £2bn on the Hong Kong stock exchange as it cements its focus on “opportunities to invest for growth in Asia and Africa”.

Activist investor Third Point has put pressure on the firm, which is part of M&G, to shut its London office altogether.
