Portman Estate appoints agent for Marylebone retail portfolio
The Portman Estate has appointed Bruce Gillingham Pollard as sole adviser on retail, restaurant and leisure leasing across its Marylebone portfolio, W1.
It is understood that the legacy CWM team at CBRE and Nash Bond previously acted on leasing matters for different streets in the Portman Marylebone portfolio, before the owner decided to form a new structure and appoint a single agent for the area. However, Nash Bond has been retained as agent on a property on Edgware Road, W1H.
The Portman Marylebone portfolio comprises the independent retail and leisure locations within the wider 110-acre estate.

BGP’s instruction covers both leasing agency and consultancy across the portfolio, which includes Chiltern Street, New Quebec Street, Seymour Place, Duke Street, Dorset Street, Blandford Street, Manchester Square and Portman Square.
Charlotte Roberts, director at BGP, said new developments and initiatives being brought forward by the estate “continue to set Marylebone apart as a leading destination for independent retail and unique consumer experiences”.
Roberts added that the agency would be “working with The Portman Estate to further elevate the location through introducing new brands and raising awareness of all that it has to offer”.
Tom Knight, portfolio director at The Portman Estate, said: “We are committed to proactively curating the retail and leisure offering across The Portman Estate to further establish Marylebone as a vibrant destination of choice for all.
“We are looking forward to working with BGP to further evolve the personality and quality of our independent retail and leisure partners across Portman Marylebone.”
The estate is the latest in a line of retail and leisure owners to streamline their agency rosters. Those have included Landsec and The Crown Estate in the past year.
