Port Isaac fears the sea after defences crumble

The Cornish fishing village of Port Isaac is facing a crisis after a section of its sea defences crumbled into the sea.

The village, which appeared as the setting for the Doc Martin TV series, is now trying to raise £40,000 to help shore up the defences, which were paid for and have been maintained by fishermen since 1926.

The total cost, however, is expected to be an “eye-watering” amount.
