Prime minister prepares to scrap working from home guidance

The prime minister is set to declare the end of Covid restrictions today, including working-from-home guidance, as part of a long-term strategy for living with the virus.

Working-from-home guidance and Covid passes are due to be scrapped from next week, although people will still be told to wear face masks. Whether this remains law or reverts to guidance is still being finalised.

The Treasury is demanding savings from the £10bn testing budget, which will see many of the UK’s thousands of test centres scrapped.
