Plymouth Council approves mixed-use tower plan
Plymouth City Council has given the go-ahead for a new 21-storey mixed use tower at the Drake Circus shopping centre.
The scheme will provide 554 student bedrooms, 20,000 sq ft of office space, a 105-bed hotel, and 1,603 sq ft of retail space.
Work is anticipated to start on the redevelopment in 2019/2020.

Jim Tarzey, executive director for consultant Pegasus Group, which submitted the plans to the council on behalf of an unnamed London-based property developer, said: “Plymouth has set out its ambitions to have a tall building zone for over a decade, and while there has been some progress, this development should provide a welcome addition to the city skyline, with a modern, attractive and high-quality build.
