People moves: Trustek appoints innovation and strategy head

Appointments and promotions

Katie Whipp (pictured, left) has joined Trustek as head of innovation and strategy. She previously led Deepki’s UK and Ireland operations and has extensive experience in real estate, ESG, and proptech.

Charlie Ash (pictured, centre) has been named NHBC’s sector head for housing associations. She will manage relationships and collaborations with housing associations, their contractors, and other sector stakeholders.

Douglas Leapman (pictured, right) has joined Gateley Legal as a director in its residential development team in Guildford.

Precede Capital Partners has appointed Nigel Webb to its board in the role of non-executive director. He will also serve on Precede Capital’s credit and ESG committees. Webb worked with British Land for three decades, overseeing operations in the office, retail and residential markets.

Savills Sweden has appointed Thomas Malmberg as head of property management and Malin Silversvala as head of business development.

Philip McLaughlin has joined Kajima as project director after 13 years at Bloomberg. He joins the London-based team and will oversee the delivery of its development projects in London and Europe, with an emphasis on logistics and student housing.

Karen Bowes and Shishir Baijal have joined Knight Frank’s group executive board. Bowes joins the board in the role of global chief people officer and will also become a proprietary partner. Baijal is the chairman and managing director of Knight Frank’s India division and has more than 45 years of expertise across a range of sectors including hotels and leisure.

Rodrigo Cortés has been named managing director of Tishman Speyer’s capital partnerships in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Southern Europe, and Israel. He joins from Azora Capital and will be based in Madrid.

Kingswood has expanded its commercial team with the additions of managing quantity surveyor Graham Hacking and quantity surveyor Kim Bates.

Huseyin Huseyin has joined Howard Kennedy’s real estate practice as a partner. He joins from Harold Benjamin, where he was a partner in property development, construction, and planning.

Anna Barrett has been appointed senior land manager for Walter Cooper. She previously worked for Countryside, Persimmon Homes and Bugler Group.

Maggie Grogan has been made managing director for the Midlands at Muse. She joined the company in 2020 as a senior development manager.

Jon Schofield has been appointed as Helix’s new construction director. He brings more than 30 years of experience in residential construction across both the public and private sectors to the role and will be responsible for Helix’s construction operations, customer care, and resident liaison.

Syncona has appointed Roel Bulthuis as managing partner and head of investments. Roel brings over 20 years of experience in life science venture finance and business development to the role.

The Sovini Group has hired James Flannery as its director of construction and land. He will be in charge of the company’s growth and development, as well as the acquisition of land.

Herbert Smith Freehills has appointed Matthew Bool as a partner in its London real estate practise.

Olivia Boulting, who works for Auction House’s Southwest of England region, has been made the company’s third female auctioneer. She began working for the firm in 2021 as an area manager.

Long Harbour has appointed Jack Spearman to lead its single-family housing platform. Spearman joined the firm in 2009 and is now a director, leading the origination and execution team for the UK secured income programme.

Matt Rodgers has been promoted to head of construction for the central region at Avant Homes.

Eversheds Sutherland has promoted the following members of its real estate team. Andrew Leeds and Ian Owen in Birmingham, and Sebastian Woschech in Munich have been made partners. Ranjit Bajway and Owen Dutton in Birmingham, Fiona Barker in Manchester, and Nadine Gutteridge in Cardiff have been promoted to legal directors.

Knight Frank has appointed Ho-Pin Tung as head of its private office in Hong Kong where he will advise private clients on their global real estate portfolios.

Trei Real Estate has named Ivonne Mundil as its new head of sustainability and ESG. Mundil, a chartered engineer, developed the company’s ESG strategy and will be in charge of its implementation.

Bidwells has expanded its energy and renewables team with the appointment of Ash Blewer as an associate and George Ellis-Hancock as a consultant. Rachael Mackintosh has joined as an assistant and Debbie Small as personal assistant to the head of energy and renewables.
