People moves: Ryden recruits investment partner

Stuart Low (pictured, left) has joined Ryden as an investment partner in Glasgow. He was formerly head of Graham + Sibbald’s capital markets team.
Wates Group has appointed Rachel Addison (pictured, right) as a non-executive director. She will chair the group’s audit committee and oversee financial reporting, processes, and regulatory compliance.
Carter Jonas has recruited Alex Tross as a partner to lead its Birmingham office agency team. Tross will provide advice on office lease and acquisition strategies to landlords, occupiers, investors, and developers.

Placefirst has appointed Henry Marshall in the newly-created role of investment director, to drive forward the business’s objective to reach 6,500 single-family homes. He formerly worked in Realstar’s acquisitions and asset management team.
Gareth Bradford, executive director of housing, property, and regeneration for the West Midlands Combined Authority, has been named as the Crown Estate’s director of strategic business development. He joins after more than two decades in local, regional, and federal government, including service as a policy adviser in the Number 10 Policy Unit.
Lauren Gavaghan, a senior development manager at Bruntwood, has joined Stärka as an acquisitions and development consultant.
Mark Collins, CBRE’s residential chair and executive director, has been named UK chair of the Urban Land Institute. Collins will succeed Anette Simpson, development and partnerships director at Legal & General, who has served as ULI UK chair since June 2021.
Ross Snow has rejoined Barratt Developments from Persimmon Homes. His new position is as commercial director for the housebuilder’s Southampton division.
Katie Oliphant has joined Knight Frank as a proprietary partner and member of its London offices board. She joins after 12 years at Canary Wharf Group, where she was most recently in charge of its office portfolio, overseeing design and development, leasing, and asset management.
Gemma Price has been named managing director of Far East Consortium, where she will work alongside the development and delivery teams to inform and influence the design of all future developments. She joins from Urbanbubble, where she oversaw a 9,000-home portfolio.
British Land chief executive Simon Carter has been named junior vice-president of the British Property Federation. Guy Grainger will step down as president after serving since January 2022. Carter will join BPF president Mark Allan and vice-president Jessica Hardman on the BPF’s leadership team.
Creative Retail has hired George Xydias as director. He previously worked at Centrick Commercial, Pennycuick Collins and Lambert Smith Hampton.
Chris Jackson has joined auctioneer Pugh as an associate director, based in its Leeds office.
Architects PRP has promoted Andrew Mellor to senior partner.
Real estate investor Castleforge has recruited Neil Smith as chief financial officer from Invest & Fund.
AspinallVerdi has expanded its development team with the recent appointments of Elliot Squire as a development consultant and Harvey Garrett as a graduate development surveyor at its head office in Leeds.
North Residential has recently recruited James Black as a consultant.
Be First has appointed Gabrielle Berring, Jon Milward, Adam Towle, Pam Vick and Martin Cresswell as board of directors. The organisation is responsible for the regeneration and redevelopment of Barking and Dagenham, and by 2037 it aims to have built 50,000 new homes in the borough.
Michael Berditchewsky has joined Precede Capital Partners as associate director from LaSalle Investment Management. Lukas Kielius has joined as an associate from CBRE Investment Management.
Knight Frank has appointed Alon Brahm as managing director in its Berlin office.
Duncan Cooper, group finance director at Crest Nicholson, has joined Travis Perkins as chief financial officer.
Patrick Downes, Harris Lamb’s head of planning, has retired after two decades with the company, having joined to establish the company’s planning team. Simon Hawley will take over his role.
MSP Capital has appointed Philip George, co-founder of Shawbrook Bank, to its board as a non-executive director.
Andrea Ruckstuhl, Lendlease’s vice president for Italy and continental Europe, has been promoted to chief executive of Europe. He originally joined the company in 2005 and has helped to establish the group in Italy across the investment, development, and construction markets.
Viktor Dietrich and Rebecca Crocker have joined Aviva Investors’ real assets research team as research director and research analyst, respectively.
