People moves: Knight Frank appoints debt advisory partner

This week’s appointments and promotions Knight Frank has appointed Joe Otterburn (pictured, left) as a partner in its debt advisory team from Europa Capital. Suraj Visavidiya has joined the business rates team as a partner in Manchester. Colliers has hired Tom Marsden (pictured, right) as a director to lead its occupier advisory business in the City of London. He joins from BNP Paribas Real Estate. Valeria Puleo has joined Russell Simpson as lettings negotiator. She has previously worked at SN Estates London and Gordon & Co. Dave Wakelin has been appointed as director of sustainability at Gleeds, where he will incorporate innovative sustainable practices across the project delivery process. Joe Rigby has been named as head of office agency for CBRE’s northern region. He joined CBRE in 2014 and was appointed head of occupier services for the northern region in 2019. Davitt Jones Bould has appointed senior property lawyers Alice Dearden, Jennifer Hotston, Leanne Macdonald, Eva Hendry, Pascale Van Zyl, Eleanor Smith and Maria Gill. Guy Gusterson has been appointed as managing director of Gleeson Land. He has more than 25 years of industry experience, including 16 years at St Modwen Properties, where he was a member of the executive committee and managing director for strategic land and regeneration. Matt Baker has joined housebuilder Keepmoat as its land and partnerships director for the Yorkshire East and East Midlands regions. Grenville Turner, former chairman of Watkin Jones and chief executive of Countrywide, has been appointed as chairman of Silbury Finance. David Allen has joined Mace as chief financial officer from Wates. Savills has hired Nick Smith as a director in its lease consultancy team in central London. He joins from JLL, where he was head of West End advisory for 11 years. Kathryn Banks and Oliver Galliford have joined Vail William as senior planners serving the Gatwick and Surrey regions. Gateley Legal has appointed Thornton Allen as a legal director in its residential development team and Andrew Harbourne as a partner in its construction team. John D Wood & Co has hired Chris Kelly as head of marketing. Battersea Power Station Development Company has promoted Sam Cotton to head of asset management and Kate Boothman Meier to head of communications and marketing. Walker Singleton has hired Jessica Siswick and Johnjoe Wright as trainee surveyors, as well as Fortune Nguwo as a graduate surveyor. Natasha Caroli has joined as an asset advisory administrator, while Rachel Benn joins as a residential trainee. Gwendal Kalkofen has joined Europa Capital as head of real estate finance, based in London. He will be responsible for sourcing, executing and managing debt financing for its European real estate investments. Redrow has named Geeta Nanda, chief executive of Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing, as a non-executive director to its board, effective from May. Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has promoted residential surveyors Andrew Sinclair and Steven Wilson and commercial surveyor Ewan Robertson to associate. Charles Jones has joined CBRE as a director in its operational real estate team in Birmingham, where he will spearhead the growth of its hotels and licensed brokerage activities in the Midlands and South region. Mark Foyle has been appointed managing director of Crest Nicholson’s South West division. He has worked for the business for 10 years in the strategic partnerships and land and Chiltern divisions. Tom Roundell Greene has joined Carter Jonas as head of sustainability to lead its ESG strategy. He joins from JLL. Clifton Agency has appointed Hollie Ruddle as a partner from Lambert Smith Hampton. Dacres Commercial has appointed James Witty to its healthcare team as a graduate surveyor. He joins from Leicestershire County Council. RE Capital has appointed Devon Olander as group fund manager. He joins from Skybound Capital Group. Build-to-rent developer Get Living has promoted Ailish Christian-West to chief operating officer. She joined the company in 2020 as executive director for portfolio management, development and ESG. Cushman & Wakefield’s Stuart Dorward is stepping down as regional managing director for Scotland after a decade in the role. Murray Strang will assume the position. Dominvs Group has appointed Sean Ellis to its board as a non-executive director. The former executive director of the Berkeley Group will advise on land and planning, strategy, operational efficiency and governance. Raja Farooq has joined Quadrant as finance director from Oliver Walton Group.
