People moves: BioMed Realty appoints UK leasing director

BioMed Realty has appointed William Clarke (pictured, left) as director of leasing in the UK. He joins from Savills, where he worked for the past 10 years in the office, R&D and laboratory leasing markets.
Multidisciplinary practice rg+p has promoted to its senior leadership team associate architects Victoria Torres (pictured, right), a specialist in social housing, student accommodation and BTR, and Nuno Mota, skilled in project delivery and luxury residential development.
Redrow has appointed Garry Cornell as sustainability director, tasked with meeting the company’s climate goals across the entire supply chain and operations. He was formerly head of environment and sustainability at Yondr Group.

Robert Bernard has been appointed as CBRE’s senior sustainability officer. Bernard, who has more than two decades of expertise in environmental sustainability, will also become senior vice president for client sustainability solutions.
Chithra Marsh has been named the new chair of Women in Property. The associate director of Buttress will take on the role for one year, replacing Gleeds’ senior project manager Nicola Jones. Jennifer Winyard, senior strategic land manager at Barratt Homes, will take the role of national vice chair.
Netherlands-based consultancy Arcadis has appointed Richard Jones as its northern cities executive for England, where he will work with local authority leaders and the business community. Jones previously worked on the delivery of Liverpool ONE and Stockport Interchange.
CBRE Investment Management has appointed Chris Burgess as ESG director for indirect real estate from ESG consultancy Evora Global. Peter Bretveld has joined as a senior director in its client solutions division in Amsterdam.
Scottish Land & Estates has appointed Eleanor Kay as a senior policy adviser on agriculture and climate change and Jackie McCreery as a legal adviser.
Andrew Parker has joined Forge Property Consultants to work in valuation. He has expertise in both commercial and domestic work.
DC Advisory UK has hired Hoong Wey Woon to launch its UK real estate offering. He joins as real estate and healthcare managing director from investment banking firm Alantra, bringing significant M&A, capital raising and debt experience.
Jones Hargreaves has appointed Nick Twigg as partner of its newly established Manchester office, where he will focus on growing the firm’s national project management offering, while Nic Excell has joined as a senior associate partner to lead the Bristol office.
Award-winning architect, engineer, curator and writer Smith Mordak has been named as the incoming chief executive of the UKGBC. Mordak is currently a director of sustainability and physics at Buro Happold and will succeed Julie Hirigoyen on 1 June.
Vail Williams has hired Carl Grint as partner and head of its property asset management division. Diana Southwell has joined as a surveyor covering the south coast region.
Investment and asset manager Valesco has appointed Stephen Cahoon as managing director to oversee its growing €2bn (£1.8bn) pan-European portfolio. Cahoon previously worked for Cromwell Property Group.
Liverpool City Council has appointed Nuala Gallagher as its new corporate director of city development. She will be responsible for an £86m budget that will focus on driving economic growth and delivering sustainable development across the city centre and communities.
Gillian Froud has joined Bruton Knowles as head of utilities and infrastructure south. She joins from Savills, where she worked in the strategic projects team.
LCP has promoted David Charlton and Nick Bryson to director in its West Midlands head office in Dudley.
Fox Lloyd Jones has promoted Adam Watson, Louise Larking and Daniel Jamieson to the position of director to strengthen its senior leadership team.
Build-to-rent operator Native Residential has hired Jack Pinkney as its head of commercial and estates. He joins from JLL.
Banda has appointed Tom Dailey as its global design and development business partner. He joins the business following 15 years with Knight Frank, where he was head of prime development strategy and finance.
London & Associated Properties has appointed John Heller as chairman and chief executive following the death of his father, Sir Michael Heller, who had been at the helm of the business since 1971.
