ITV operates a Coronation Street set tour at its nearby production centre, opposite the neighbouring MediaCityUK campus.
The media company’s existing leisure events also include an Emmerdale tour and studio experience, shopping festival This Morning Live, and the ITV Daytime Studios tour in London.
More than 750 staff at ITV occupy the Orange Tower at MediaCityUK, which Peel jointly owns with Legal & General.
The new deal forms part of the wider £26m Watergardens regeneration into a leisure and retail destination on the southern waterfront, which was granted planning consent in March.
The revamp will also include the launch of a new 30,000 sq ft restaurant terrace in 2020.
The news comes as Peel searches for an investor in its outlets centre business. Its other retail outlets are Gloucester Quays and the £100m Glasgow Harbour regeneration project.
Peel L&P, which owns and manages 12m sq ft of property and 20,000 acres of land and water, has a total portfolio value of £2.6bn. These include airports, hotels, waterways, media hubs, event spaces, leisure facilities, retail, workspaces and residential developments.
