P-Three hires Strachan in global push
Retail and leisure consultancy P-Three has appointed former intu chairman John Strachan as a consultant, as the company bulks up its offer with the launch of a retail real estate network.
The hire will reunite Strachan, a former head of Cushman & Wakefield global retail, with former Cushman colleagues Justin Taylor, Hannah McNamara and Thomas Rose, who are the founders of P-Three.
Strachan was chairman of well-known retail agency CWM, before the business was acquired by CBRE earlier this year.
In his new role, Strachan will help expand the company’s international network, geographical coverage and client base.
Alongside Strachan’s appointment, the company is also launching a global retail, restaurant and leisure real estate consultancy network.
Called Global Retail Connections, its membership comprises Hudson Capital in Australia, HPlus-Curiosity in Japan, Jacobs Van Der Meij in the Netherlands, Lantern Real Estate in the US and Live Retail Agency in Belgium. All have previously worked together on deals.
The network will focus on development consultancy, occupier representation, agency and leasing, and work with owners and developers to “bring physical spaces to life”. It will aim to share insight and networks, as well as deliver an “effective international understanding” to clients.
Strachan said: “I have watched P-Three’s growth with great interest, not least because they are providing something different, and much needed, to the market.
“This is a great time to be joining the business, as the shifting dynamics in the market create significant opportunities for owners, developers and operators alike. The nature of P-Three, which is founder-led, strategic in its outlook and flexible in its approach, creates a great environment for me to continue to contribute to the industry.”
Taylor said: “P-Three founders know John very well from our days at Cushman & Wakefield. His reputation and market knowledge are legendary and will be of significant benefit to our clients as we help them respond to the new realities facing the property sector globally.
“Global Retail Connections, which brings together a network of leading real estate consultants, is a great complement to John’s experience. Together, they provide P-Three with a unique global perspective and reach.”
In recent weeks, the business hired Raquel Sanchez Diaz, formerly of CBRE, to develop the consultancy’s central London and prime shopping mall client base. Last year, the business recruited former CWM partner Kate Sadler to help grow the restaurant and leisure offer.
The agency’s client base includes Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, St James Quarter in Edinburgh, Lakeside, and South Kensington Station Estate. The team is also advising on the redevelopment of the former House of Fraser at 318 Oxford Street, W1; Bankside Yards, SE1; One Tower Bridge Estate, SE1; and Tower42, EC2.
Occupier representation instructions include Third Space, Metrix UEFA Champions League, F1 Arcade, Puttshack, Rosa’s Thai, DF/Tacos and Wahaca. The company became carbon neutral in 2020.
