Oxford music venue to become hotel
Z Hotel is to turn Oxford’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing Centre, which has more recently been used as a live music venue, into a 130-bedroom hotel.
The 14,000 sq ft site, located at 10, 10a and 10b Littlegate Street, is a grade I listed building. It will be partially demolished and redeveloped into the new Z Hotel.
The Oxford Deaf and Hard of Hearing Centre has been vacant since 2020, but is known locally as a popular music venue.

Under plans approved this week, Z Hotel will add a four-storey side extension and part three-storey rear extension, while ‘The Cottage’ and Baptist chapel will be repaired, renovated, and converted to hotel accommodation, including a reconfigured community hall.
The company said the walls of the community hall will be insulated while preserving its historical value. The windows of the hotel will also be double glazed, so as to not encourage noise complaints from residents.
Z Hotel’s redevelopment scheme will include two EV charging stations and 18 cycle spaces.
