Overbudget Thai parliament has karaoke room – but not enough offices

The new Thai parliament building, the largest in the world, includes a karaoke room, basketball court and a ballroom for its members – but not enough office space.

The Sappaya-Sapasathan was completed last year at a cost of £532m – more than £200m over budget. Earlier this week it was opened to reporters for a tour of its recreational Parliamentary Club.

Among the facilities revealed at the Bangkok complex were a running track, massage room and golf driving range.
