Orchard Street secures law firm tenant for Midtown offices

Orchard Street Investment Management has signed US law firm Milberg London as a tenant for its office building at 75 Farringdon Road, EC1. The law firm has agreed to take 1,728 sq ft across the seventh floor, at an average rent of £77.50 per sq ft on a five-year lease. It joins life sciences consulting firm Blue Matter on the tenant roster at the 25,000 sq ft property, taking it to just under 20% let. Orchard Street said a further four floors are under offer, with “considerable interest” in the remaining 9,500 sq ft of space. The new lettings follow an extensive back-to-frame refurbishment of the building. This included adding a new floor and two new roof terraces. Jamie Munday, asset manager at Orchard Street, said: “This significant refurbishment project has provided us with an excellent opportunity to deliver prime office accommodation of considerable scale in a superb location. “To have attracted such a high-quality international business as Milberg London is testament to the occupier-led focus of its design and its amenities, which take into account how and where people want to work in the future.” James Oldnall, managing partner at Milberg’s London office, said: “We were attracted to 75 Farringdon Road because it of its contemporary design, which gave us the chance to create a workspace that was right for our business and enhanced our way of working.” Richard Susskind & Company and Crossland Otter Hunt acted as joint letting agents for Orchard Street; Gale Priggen acted for Milberg London.
