She will be responsible for delivering tens of thousands of homes, directing the OPDC’s development management service and managing major urban regeneration applications.
Williamson is currently assistant director of planning, building standards and sustainability at Haringey Council. During her seven years at the council she has worked on consents for major regenerations including Argent’s £500m Tottenham Hale development and Spurs’ Stadium redevelopment.
Prior to this, she worked at the Greater London Authority and the department of communities and local government.
Her appointment follows the OPDC’s recent planning approval for the High Street 2 station at Old Oak Common. The station will be the first phase of development, kick-starting one of the largest regeneration in the UK.
The £26bn redevelopment seeks to provide 25,500 new homes and 65,000 jobs on former railway and industrial land. It has faced a number of barriers in recent years, including lack of finance and the loss of a potential 54 acres of land owned by Cargiant.
Last year, the OPDC said it would instead look to partner with landowners including Network Rail and HS2 to bring forward individual parcels.
