Occupiers look to ditch space as energy bills rise

Soaring energy bills are pushing businesses to ditch office space, according to the boss of one of the world’s biggest workplace services companies.

Jacob Aarup-Andersen, chief executive of the £3bn ISS, said clients were looking to gather staff on fewer floors and shut down services on others to save on energy bills.

The cost of occupying office space has hit its highest ever level, rising by 13% in the past 12 months, according to Lambert Smith Hampton.
