It includes the construction of a three-storey research and development building, spanning 45,876 sq ft, alongside a car/cycle park, landscaping and associated infrastructure.
The move follows the approval of the first phase in March 2023, featuring 140,000 sq ft of workspace for life sciences and biotechnology occupiers. Bowmer & Kirkland is delivering the space, which is targeting completion next year.
Michael Laird is the architect behind both phases, while Sphere 25 is advising on planning matters.
The development land is owned by Peterhouse, which has granted a 175-year ground lease with a ground rent agreement coming into force after the buildings are completed and let.
The scheme sits on a brownfield site in Sawston, close to Babraham Research Campus, Granta Park and Unity Campus.
Bidwells, DTRE and JLL are retained letting agents for the South Cambridge Science Centre.
