Lawrence Hutchings has finally been able to leave Capital & Regional, the business he resigned from more than six months ago.
Hutchings resigned as chief executive of the business on 8 May and is set to become chief executive of flex operator Workspace Group. He has been placed on gardening leave immediately and will formally leave the business on 15 November.
The departure comes after a drawn out takeover of Capital & Regional by NewRiver REIT.
Hutchings will take up his new role at Workspace on 18 November, succeeding Graham Clemett. Clemett will remain available to the business until 31 January 2025, when he formally steps down from the board.
Stuart Wetherly, group finance director at CapReg, has been appointed as acting chief executive of the business, assisted by investment director James Ryman. The structure will remain in place until at least the completion of the firm’s takeover by NewRiver.
CapReg chairman David Hunter said: “Despite being on notice to depart, Lawrence has continued to serve with a very high level of commitment to the company, and we wish him well for the future.”
