Nearly three quarters of global workforce want more flexible working
Nearly three quarters (73%) of the global workforce wants to keep working from home on some level post-Covid-19, new research shows.
According to Cushman & Wakefield, which surveyed 40,000 workers across nearly 20 industries worldwide, the majority of respondents want long-term or permanent flexible working policies to be carried on even after coronavirus disruption ends.
Workers believe collaboration is higher than before coronavirus hit, and 90% feel they are trusted by their employer to work remotely.

If companies do not embrace flexible working, they could see their footprint size increase by 15-20% as there will be a need for companies to provide more space to adhere to social distancing rules in the workplace, the agent said.
Brett White, executive chairman & chief executive of Cushman & Wakefield said: “It’s imperative to recognise that the workplace will no longer be a single location, but an ecosystem of a variety of locations and experiences to support flexibility, functionality and employee wellbeing.
“That said, we expect current real estate footprint sizes to remain steady. Flexible working practices may result in fewer people in the office at any one time, but that space saving is offset by the need to accommodate social distancing in the office.”
