The initiative is being launched in partnership with the Greater London Authority and Southwark Council and in consultation with the Southwark LGBT Network. The RfP runs until 13 October and will be evaluated by a panel comprising Native Land’s Andrew Locke and Oliver Nutt; Stephanie Cryan, councillor and cabinet member for communities, democracy and finance at Southwark Council; councillor Victor Chamberlain; GLA senior culture officer Rachael Roe; Nathan Lewis, chair of the Southwark LGBT Network.
The £2.5bn Bankside Yards project will include eight new buildings with more than 350,000 sq ft of offices, as well as 50,000 sq ft of amenities, bars, restaurants and cultural space and 700 new homes. Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will open its third London hotel at the site in 2028.
