Modulous appoints Microsoft man as managing director

Construction technology firm Modulous has appointed Jason Bennett-Meere, former divisional finance lead at Microsoft, as UK managing director. Bennett-Meere steps up from finance director at Modulous as the company prepares to close its Series A funding round and release its first software tool in Q3. Modulous has increased its employee count from 14 a year ago to more than 50 today. The firm is planning to expand into European and US markets. Modulous specialises in off-site modular construction of sustainable, affordable homes, anchored by a digital SaaS platform which delivers designs, costs and programmes at concept stage. Manufacturing and construction of the assets are then outsourced to a preferred supplier network. The company expanded into the US four months after modular construction giant Katerra filed for bankruptcy. Modulous hired four of Katerra’s key directors to lead that expansion. Modulous chief executive Chris Bone said: “Jason is perfectly placed to oversee the core corporate functions at Modulous as we continue to scale at pace.
