Modular housebuilder ilke Homes to deliver 221 affordable homes in Southend

Modular housing company ilke Homes plans to deliver 221 affordable homes in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, on behalf of the Guinness Partnership. The development is the second scheme that ilke Homes and the affordable housing provider have worked on together. The Guinness Partnership is a shareholder in the modular housing company. The homes will be a mix of apartments and houses, ranging in size from one to four-bedroom family homes, of which ilke Homes says 54 are specified to be zero-carbon. ilke Homes bought the site in March 2021 and successfully secured detailed planning in September 2021. Work has commenced on site, with completion expected in Autumn 2024.
